Recently I was asked by Dave of CabbieBlog to take part in his series the London Grill:
We challenge our contributor to reply to ten devilishly probing questions about their London and we don’t take “Sorry Gov” for an answer. Everyone sitting in the hot seat they will face the same questions ranging from their favourite way to spend a day out in the capital to their most hated building on London’s skyline to find out what Londoners really think about their city. The questions might be the same but the answers vary wildly.
My interview The London Grill: Melissa Loftman is located on his Radio Taxi blog. Dave has even managed to get London Mayor Boris Johnson in the hot seat, here is his interview.
Black cabs are just as iconic as double decker buses, the tube, and telephone boxes. While the history of the black cab is long and interesting what about black cabs in modern London? For a taste of what London life is like through the lens of a black cab driver then you should definitely check out Dave’s blog.
While you are at it I also urge you to check out another blog I read regularly View from the Mirror. Cabbie Rob details the extensive training known as ‘The Knowledge’ that all licensed black cab drivers go through.

Thank you so much for the kind words and mention
You’re welcome, they are well deserved.
Very cool! Cabbie is correct – you had the same questions as Emm but very different answers. In particular – your distaste for the shard and her love of it

I think Boris likes it as well. Oh well, always going against the grain..but like I said it is growing on me.
Nice one lady! Loved your answers – you are so right about the markets.
Thanks, much more fun to answer than the typical expat questions. Speaking of markets I need to hit up Broadway Market, I see from Mandy’s post that you two went recently. Actually I still have a bunch I want to check out, are you doing any of the Christmas markets this year?
Such a great chance this one for you as a blogger. Congrats!
Thanks, it was really fun to do.
Thanks for your kind words. I hope you enjoyed being ‘Grilled’.
You’re welcome Dave. It was fun, thank you for asking me to participate in the series!
When you think of London, you think of black cabs, double-decker buses, etc.Lovely stuff. Keep up the good work and long live the Fairway!
