Last week I took my last summer holiday, tear. I went to St. Ives, Cornwall with my boyfriend and his parents. They invited us to go on holiday with them months ago so I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now.
We were based in St. Ives but toured around to neighbouring towns on many day trips. David was born in Cornwall and his parents lived and met there so every where we went brought back memories for them. It was very sweet seeing the towns they used to live in. The landscape down there is amazing and of course I have pictures to show some of the highlights of the week.
Porthmeor Beach – we stayed about a 7-8 minute walk from here up a very steep hill

For some info on this exhibit watch this clip. We all went in and I was apprehensive a little right before going in but it was SO fun. I did get disoriented a few times but it was such a cool experience.

Some where in Devon
We stayed for 7 days and on the way home were already thinking of making a trip out there as a regular summer event. On the way back we passed through Devon where I met David’s aunt who was really lovely.
From his parent’s account not much has changed in some of the towns we visited after all this time. Some places have gotten a bit more commercial (Penzance, and Land’s End for example) but that is to be expected. Cornwall is a trip that I will definitely be making again. It was nice to explore west country, relax and be much closer to the sea.

Those are some lovely shots, especially the Land’s End signpost with the “New York 3147″ arrow! I am dying to go to Cornwall, it looks so beautiful.
It’s amazing down there. Peaceful and tons to do in nature. A nice break from London for sure.
Wow, this place looks gorgeous. I’m kind of embarrassed that I literally know nothing about the UK. How far is this place from London?
St. Ives is about 5 1/2 hours train ride south west of London. Don’t be embarrassed, I didn’t know much about it either. That’s the fun though, discovering.
The lost gardens look amazing. Like something from a faerytale! Would you say that’s accurate?
Completely accurate. I will update either my photography blog or my flickr account. It was amazing in there.
